The bond shared among the ladies of The Morning Show – from Jennifer Aniston to Laura Dern, Mimi Leder, and our very own Big Little Lies heroine – radiated a warmth that could rival even the most scrumptious hot cocoa on a chilly winter’s eve.

At this year’s Emmy Awards, Reese Witherspoon, along with her co-star Jennifer Aniston, director Laura Dern, and executive producer Mimi Leder, had a unique gathering. On Monday, September 16th, the actress from Big Little Lies (who was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series alongside Aniston) posted a series of photos from the event. “Emmys girls night,” she captioned her post.

Initially, a photo was shared that depicted actress Jennifer Aniston, Leder, and Witherspoon enjoying a close-knit meal at the table. This was then followed by Witherspoon posting a selfie from her bathroom with her longtime friend and ‘Big Little Lies’ co-star, Meryl Streep (Dern). Another photo emerged showing the director smiling while holding a lipstick, accompanied by Aniston posing nearby.

The post featured several glimpses of besties Dern and Witherspoon, including a car selfie as they were heading to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the big night, a video of them walking down a hallway, and one on the red carpet. 

In a recent Instagram update, the actress from Legally Blonde showcased an enchanting Dior dress adorned with delicate floral patterns. She styled her hair in an elegant updo and opted for smoky eyeshadow and a golden clutch to complete the look. In another post, she shared close-up shots of her makeup and a selfie with her hair and makeup team. Her caption read, “Emmy night!! So thrilled to celebrate @themorningshow season 3 and everyone who made it possible.

Despite not winning the Best Supporting Actress award for their roles (Aniston and Witherspoon losing to Anna Sawai from Shōgun), The Morning Show still managed to take home three Emmys. Notably, Billy Crudup, another co-star, was recognized for his outstanding portrayal of network President Cory Ellison by winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award.

The show revolves around a fictional news network UBA, exploring the intricacies of the cutthroat world of media and “the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.” Witherspoon stars as news anchor Bradley Jackson and Aniston plays her co-anchor Alex Lexy. The three seasons of The Morning Show are available to stream on Apple TV+.
