Cardi B Reveals How to Avoid Postpartum Depression After Giving Birth to Her Third Kid; ‘Y’all Dragged Me Down When…’

As a devoted fan of Cardi B, I find myself deeply inspired by her resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit. Her postpartum journey this time around is a testament to her determination and her commitment to prioritizing her mental health through physical activity.

Following the arrival of her third child, Cardi B’s post-delivery healing process seems to be taking a unique turn compared to her previous experiences. On Thursday, September 12, the artist behind WAP opened up about her postpartum journey, expressing how her perspective on postnatal recovery has shifted.

In a recent update on X (previously known as Twitter), Cardi B shared that she’s been prioritizing cardio workouts and steering clear of heavy weights or exercises that could strain muscles or require squatting. This is part of her commitment to staying active. She elaborated that maintaining physical activity helps her combat postpartum depression by keeping her thoughts preoccupied. For Cardi B, fitness plays a significant role in her recovery process.

To a fan’s question, she replied, “I’m focusing on cardio exercises without any heavy weightlifting or muscle straining moves like squats. To prevent postpartum depression, I find it helpful to keep my mind engaged, and for me, that means continuing my work and staying physically active.

As a diehard fan, I’d like to echo Cardi B’s words, speaking from my own perspective. You see, when I was blessed with the roles of mommy to Wave, three, and Kulture, six, with Offset, I faced criticism while carrying my little bundles of joy. People seemed to think it was acceptable to criticize me for gaining weight during pregnancy, even going so far as to accuse me of using it as an excuse to avoid work. But let me tell you, those comments didn’t phase me one bit. I embraced every curve and carried my babies with pride, knowing that they were the most important things in my life at that moment. So here’s a shout-out to all the moms out there: love your bodies, love your babies, and never let anyone bring you down!

The artist behind Bodak Yellow penned, “Here’s what’s amusing: You criticized me when I gained 15 pounds due to being five months pregnant, yet now you feign concern and discuss stress. You claimed I was pregnant to dodge work, but now that you see I’m still working hard, it’s a different story? Yes, I’m taking this personally, but the reason is simple: Either way, you’ll always have something to say about me.

A fan commented on the unwarranted societal pressure on women to bounce back as if childbirth never happened. Cardi acknowledged the pressure but clarified that it has never truly bothered her. Agreeing with the fan, she responded, “I just was never the type to care about snapping back after birth. I don’t know what it is about this time around, but I have this burst of energy where I want to do EVERYTHING.” This time, she’s feeling refreshed and ready to take on as much as possible, with big plans ahead.

Cardi B hasn’t disclosed the name of her newly-born daughter as of now, but she’s clearly smitten with the baby, referring to her as adorable and petite.
