As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Dave Bautista‘s journey to maintaining his physique is nothing short of inspiring. His life experiences, from being a WWE veteran to a Hollywood actor, have shaped him into an individual who understands the importance of discipline and hard work when it comes to health and fitness.
In a recent conversation, Dave Bautista discussed his recent weight loss and the rigorous workout and eating regimen he adheres to in order to keep his sleek new physique, following numerous fans voicing their worries about his health.
On the September 10th episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, the former WWE star-turned-Hollywood actor (known for his roles in James Bond and Marvel series) revealed that he focuses on staying slim specifically to prevent being overly noticeable or distracting during filming.
He began reducing his weight for a specific cause. The reason being, he had gained too much weight and felt uncomfortable, especially with his leading role in the upcoming 2023 thriller Knock at the Cabin making him feel larger than usual.
Bautista commented, “People might perceive me as having become larger over the years, and therefore think I have an eating disorder like anorexia. However, this is troubling because, standing at 6’4” and weighing 240 pounds, I still appear to be a large person compared to typical actors.
In a humorous manner, the ex-WWE Champion playfully remarked about fans’ worries over his sudden weight loss, stating that he appears quite like a gorilla compared to other artists. He then added that he is now strictly adhering to a strict diet plan, eating significantly fewer calories than when he was bodybuilding.
Bautista states, “I’m confident I’ll lose a few more pounds. I’m putting in an immense amount of effort during my workouts to achieve this lean physique, almost pushing myself to my limits. Not only do I exercise regularly, but I also monitor my food consumption carefully, consuming around 2,500 calories per day, which doesn’t seem like much to me because I’m not eating a lot. I often fast, but I’m definitely not starving myself.
10 years ago, Bautista made his acting debut as Dax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then, his career has soared with roles in movies like Spectre, Blade Runner 2049, My Spy, Army of the Dead, Dune, Glass Onion, and many others. The ex-WWE wrestler also mentioned that he won’t reverse his retirement match against friend and guide Triple H at WrestleMania five years ago, despite no longer actively wrestling.
