The first trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is here, and it introduces Simone Ashley, known from Bridgerton, as the newest addition to the cast. Released by Disney to coincide with ticket sales starting in the US, the trailer shows Ashley’s character entering the demanding environment of Runway magazine, where Meryl Streep returns as the formidable Miranda Priestly.
In the scene, Miranda criticizes the new photos, asking Andy if the models were directed to pose as if they were wandering around a bleak, rundown parking lot, comparing the setting to a methadone clinic in New Jersey.
Ashley playfully interrupts Miranda, joking, “What? Is there a topic I’m not allowed to bring up? Like methadone or New Jersey?” It appears she’s there to keep Miranda from getting into trouble, which is likely a difficult task.
The moment is here.
