As a huge movie fan, I’m loving all the little hints Zack Snyder is dropping about his Justice League plans! The latest is really exciting – he’s brought back his version of Green Lantern. It’s great to see him revisiting that character!
Zack Snyder shared new photos of Wayne T. Carr as John Stewart, explaining he had intended to include the character in his Justice League storyline. He acknowledged that some plans didn’t come to fruition, but hinted at the possibility of John Stewart appearing in future projects with the line, ‘the green glow is still out there.’

This new release is reminding everyone of Zack Snyder’s vision for the character John Stewart, which fans were never able to fully experience in theaters.
Wayne T. Carr shared a green-screen video on Instagram months ago featuring the words “Reset Restart Refocus,” and this seems to be connected to recent speculation about a new post from Snyder. He also posted a video referencing “Good Times.”
It’s clear that Snyder is returning to concepts and storylines he originally developed for the SnyderVerse, and Green Lantern is one of them.
It’s awesome to see Zack Snyder continuing to celebrate the Justice League! He’s been sharing some really cool stuff lately, like posts featuring Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Henry Cavill as Superman. And I loved his comment about the Justice League movie poster – calling it ‘one of the most meta movie posters ever made’ was spot on, honestly. It’s great seeing him appreciate the film and the fans like this.

Timing with Lanterns is hard to ignore
This news comes at a time when the first teaser for the Lanterns series is receiving online criticism. Many fans have expressed disappointment with its darker, more realistic style, noting the absence of the traditionally vibrant green colors and a generally less fantastical feel. HBO even seemed to acknowledge the fan reaction with a playful response on social media after some viewers said the teaser didn’t feel much like a Green Lantern project.
I noticed Alex Ross shared some older Green Lantern art right after the new series was teased, and a lot of us fans thought it was his way of quietly sharing his feelings about where they’re taking the story. It felt like a little nod to the classic version we all love.
Considering everything that’s been happening, Snyder highlighting Wayne T. Carr’s portrayal of John Stewart seems very intentional and not just a coincidence.
