This recent event at the red carpet occurred merely weeks following Roan’s statement about certain fans behaving improperly. On August 23rd, she expressed via Instagram that, after a decade spent wholly engrossed in work, it was crucial to establish boundaries. Her remarks concerning unconsented-for interactions, be they physical or social, were particularly firm.

She lamented that women are not obliged to anyone for anything, especially if they choose to pursue their careers publicly. She stated that she enjoys her work as an artist and a performer but harassment in any form is unacceptable.
