Citadel: Diana Trailer- Matilda De Angelis Sets Out To Investigate A Mysterious Death In Prime Video’s Spy Series

As a dedicated follower of international cinema and espionage series, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming release of Citadel: Diana! With my extensive experience in appreciating Italian artistry and storytelling, Matilda De Angelis‘s portrayal of undercover agent Diana Cavalieri has piqued my interest. Her character’s determination to unveil the truth behind her parents’ deaths is reminiscent of my own relentless pursuit for answers in life – albeit not as dramatic!

Amazon Studios has unveiled the trailer for Citadel: Diana, the action-packed Italian spinoff of the Citadel spy series, featuring Matilda De Angelis as secret agent Diana Cavalieri. She’s on a mission to identify the culprits behind her parents’ murder in this series.

She declares in the preview, while tenderly touching a cherished family portrait, “I won’t rest until I discover why they perished. I won’t give up.” Later, an agent invites her to team up with them to reveal the culprit behind her parents’ murder. Taking on the role of an undercover operative, Diana navigates a treacherous journey into a wealthy family suspected of shady dealings, but treading this path is no easy task!

This six-episode series represents our studio’s most daring venture in Italian production thus far. The Citadel franchise debuted with its 2023 installment featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, establishing a base for various shows set across diverse locations yet tied to the central narrative.

De Angelis is a well-known Italian actress who first appeared in Hollywood with Susanne Bier’s film The Undoing, sharing screen time with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. Additionally, she played a role in Paula Ortiz’s adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s novel Across the River and Into the Trees, acting alongside Liev Schreiber.

Citadel: Diana is located in Milan, 2030, eight years following a devastating event where Manticore eliminated the autonomous worldwide intelligence agency, Citadel. When Diana finds herself ensnared within the nefarious organization that controls the world from behind the scenes, she is compelled to team up with an unconventional partner—Edo Zani, the successor of Manticore Italy and son of Ettore.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but see the parallel predicament of Diana, yearning to break free from her entrapment, and Edo, maneuvering his way around the sinister syndicate. Yet, it’s only through mutual trust that they can both reach their desired outcomes. The captivating Lorenzo Cervasio embodies Edo Zani, while Matilda De Angelis brings Diana to life on screen. Maurizio Lombardi plays Ettore Zani, and the ensemble is completed by Thekla Reuten, Julia Piaton, Filippo Nigro, and Bernhard Schütz.

Under the leadership of Arnaldo Catinari and jointly penned by Alessandro Fabbri, the series titled “Citadel: Diana” will debut on a streaming service on October 11th.
