The ninth season of Rick and Morty will premiere on Sunday, May 24th, at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time, according to Adult Swim.
The network is releasing new episodes of its most popular show, Rick and Morty, and promises the upcoming season will be even more expansive and exciting than previous ones.
Adult Swim teases bigger Season 9
Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen announced the new season and praised the show for consistently improving.
I’m supposed to say the show keeps getting better, and this time it’s actually true,” Ouweleen explained. “It’s amazing – and a little intimidating – how much talent and creativity the team brings to each new season. They consistently deliver incredibly strong episodes.”
He promised fans a wild and imaginative experience, and also highlighted the show’s strong character development as being among the best it has ever offered.

Adult Swim released details about the new season, maintaining the quirky and unpredictable style that Rick and Morty fans love.
Rick and Morty’s ninth season is here, and it’s fantastic! The creators promise no artificial or low-quality content – just genuinely creative episodes made by real people. They’re really hoping fans tune in, because they’ve put a lot of personal time and effort into making it!
A new clip from Season 9 will also debut on Adult Swim’s social channels on March 12.
Rick and Morty remains a major hit
The hit animated show Rick and Morty was the most-watched comedy on cable television for four seasons – seasons 3 through 6. It’s also received critical acclaim, winning two Emmy Awards for its animation.
Season 9 features Ian Cardoni, Harry Belden, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer as cast members. Dan Harmon and Scott Marder are executive producers, and Marder is also in charge of the show as showrunner.
Global rollout and streaming release
Adult Swim says Rick and Morty Season 9 will debut in more than 170 countries and in 42 languages.
New episodes will be available for purchase online the day after they premiere on Adult Swim. The entire season will start streaming in the U.S. on August 31st.
