With the recent release of the official trailer, a commercial during the Big Game last month, and a feature in Empire Magazine, this new TV spot continues building excitement for the return of Star Wars to cinemas – something that hasn’t happened since The Rise of Skywalker premiered in 2019.
Star Wars heads back to theaters in May
The story takes place in a galaxy still recovering from the fall of the Empire, with various Imperial leaders continuing to cause trouble.
Din Djarin and Grogu find themselves caught up in another conflict when the New Republic seeks assistance in safeguarding the progress made by the Rebellion.
Lucasfilm is emphasizing that this film is meant to be experienced in theaters, and it will only be available in cinemas and IMAX starting May 22, 2026.
