As a dedicated follower of the Hollywood scene and a fan of both Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, I must say that their collaboration in “Without Blood” was nothing short of inspiring. Witnessing the two powerhouses work together on set was a sight to behold.

Angelina Jolie takes an active role in motherhood and made sure she had adequate assistance while working on her upcoming movie, “Without Blood.” Her sons, Maddox and Pax, were valuable team members, putting in effort for the project.

At the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, the world premiere took place for the film Without Blood, which was both written and directed by its leading actress, Salma Hayek Pinault, alongside Demián Bichir.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that among Jolie’s six children, the two oldest have roles in the assistant director department, which functions as a bridge between the director and various other departments.

At the PEOPLE/Entertainment Weekly TIFF suite on September 8, Hayek spoke about her children, highlighting their strong work ethic. It’s also been noted that during filming, Angelina Jolie was reportedly quite professional with them.

   

Hayek praised both boys abundantly, noting their seriousness and maturity. Given Jolie’s assertive nature as a director, she treated her sons no differently than any other team member.

Initially, Hayek behaved playfully with Maddox and Pax during filming, but later understood that she needed to approach them as professionals, as failing to do so could potentially come across as disrespectful.

As a devoted follower, I had the pleasure of being on set alongside Hayek’s 16-year-old daughter Valentina, whom she shares with her husband François-Henri Pinault. The experience was delightful and comfortable, particularly when portraying intricate characters that embodied the spirit of “voting rights”.

Salma Hayek described the atmosphere of the set as feeling “like home” for her. 

     

Jolie has held the director’s position in films before. Some of her previous directorial works include “In the Land of Blood and Honey” (2011), “Unbroken” (2014), “By the Sea” (2015), and “First They Killed My Father” (2017).

The film “Without Blood” is inspired by Alessandro Baricco’s 2002 book. In this movie, a woman ( portrayed by Hayek) bears witness to her family enduring unimaginable violence, while the man [Bichir] responsible for these acts is also featured. This summary comes from the festival’s description.
