‘She Was Really Moved’: Orlando Bloom Reveals How His Significant Weight Loss For The Cut Role Left Partner Katy Perry ‘Freaked Out’

As a dedicated follower of Hollywood happenings and a fan of both Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, I must say that the recent transformation of Orlando for his role in The Cut left me utterly amazed. His dedication to his craft is commendable, and it’s evident that he went above and beyond to portray his character convincingly.

In the forthcoming psychological thriller movie “The Cut,” Orlando Bloom takes on the character of an unspecified boxer, a part that required him to shed a considerable amount of weight and adhere to a disciplined eating plan.

Lately, Bloom unveiled the methods he employed to take on this role and shared his partner Katy Perry’s response upon witnessing his remarkable transformation as part of the project. Delve deeper to discover further insights!

In a recent chat with People magazine, Orlando Bloom discussed the steps he took to convincingly play a boxer for his new film, The Cut. This movie was showcased at its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. As per the film’s summary, it tells the story of a former fighter (Bloom) who is determined to return to the ring and claim a championship title – “regardless of the risk to his own life.

The actor, Unlocked, shared with the media that upon seeing the movie and his significant weight loss for the role, his fiancee Katy Perry expressed concern, saying something like, “I really need a strong cocktail right now.” Bloom revealed he was experiencing intense hunger because of his weight loss, as during the last three weeks prior to filming in London, his diet consisted only of tuna and cucumbers.

During the production of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, the actor revealed that a dietitian had them follow a stringent regimen to achieve their “lowest possible weight” before filming commenced. However, as shooting progressed, he ended up gaining weight.

In simpler terms, Bloom observed Perry tearing up following her viewing of his act, expressing she was deeply touched and aware of the effort involved. Nevertheless, the performer openly acknowledged the hurdles he encountered, confessing that during production, when returning home to his family, there was a moment where he felt certain he might not survive.

Actress from The Kingdom of Heaven film also added that she was actively involved during the production, overseeing matters with the children, and admitted that it was a challenging time for the entire family.

As an ardent admirer putting words into Caitriona Balfe’s voice, I’d say: I wholeheartedly concur with Sam Heughan’s thoughts on balancing acting and family life. You see, it’s a breeze to immerse oneself in a project when singles like us, without the ties of family, are free to dedicate our hearts and souls. Yet, when duty calls me home to be a parent, that’s when the challenges truly unfold. It’s a beautiful struggle, but one I wouldn’t trade for anything else.

As a die-hard admirer, let me share my astonishment. Before the cameras rolled, Balfe revealed to the press that Bloom’s visage appeared remarkably gaunt. His transformation, however, left me utterly stunned! I found myself exclaiming, “You look like a raisin!” It was truly a sight to behold.

Meanwhile, Sean Ellis’s upcoming film The Cut does not yet have a release date.
