Marvel Studios Rumored to Introduce the Multiversal Masters of Evil in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt and a lifelong Marvel enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a tinge of both excitement and apprehension regarding the latest developments in “Avengers: Doomsday.” The shift from Kang to Doctor Doom as the main antagonist is certainly unexpected, but as they say, every good story needs a great villain – and Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom promises to deliver that in spades.

Initially, the movie “Avengers: Doomsday” was conceived as “Avengers: Kang Dynasty,” but due to complications with Jonathan Majors, the storyline had to be revised. Now, it’s been announced that Robert Downey Jr.’s character will be Doctor Doom, taking over the role of the main antagonist from Kang.

As a result of this change in emphasis, it’s now unclear where the storyline of the film will go, rendering earlier rumors and guesses obsolete.

An earlier theory regarding the antagonists in Avengers: Doomsday proposed a potential emergence of the Multiversal Masters of Evil. This group was initially hypothesized to have been crafted by Mephisto and Doom Supreme, and their original purpose was to confront the primordial Avengers. However, their objectives expanded to conquer numerous realities, with Earth-616 being their ultimate goal. Some of its most significant members were the Berserkers, Black Skull, Dark Phoenix, Ghost Goblin, King Killmonger, and Kid Thanos.

The tale of the Multiversal Lords of Villainy unfolds with Doom Supreme, who ruled almost everything in his reality and earned the titles of Sorcerer Supreme and Supreme Necromancer through ruthless means. However, he found himself growing weary and yearned for a fresh test. He decided to journey through time to eliminate the primitive Avengers, but this task proved harder than anticipated, leading him to assemble wicked counterparts from various realities.

In approximately 1,000,000 BC, Doom Supreme made his entrance and came face to face with Mephisto. Mephisto proposed they establish a squad of malevolent supervillains aimed at overpowering the ancient Avengers, which ultimately led to the birth of the Multiversal Masters of Evil. Their objective was to conquer these prehistoric Avengers across multiple dimensions, with Earth-616 as their ultimate target. Regardless of Mephisto’s concealed intentions, Doom Supreme consented.

Later on, Doom gathered an impressive roster of formidable antagonists: Kid Thanos, the fiery Dark Phoenix and her Berserkers, the fierce King Killmonger, the spectral Ghost Goblin (a.k.a. Norman Osborn), and the enigmatic Black Skull.

Based on recent remarks by Alex Perez in a Discord AMA, there’s a possibility that the Masters of Evil could show up in the upcoming movie. However, this is contingent on a rumor he heard that links back to comic stories that influenced an earlier draft of the film’s script.

As an avid fan, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll also witness the arrival of the Multiverse Masters of Evil alongside Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. Fingers crossed for a thrilling showdown!

Alex: I’m not offering any insights. When I brought them up earlier, it was because they served as the primary antagonists in a comic that I understood was influencing the plot structure for these films. However, I don’t know if they will be the main villains in Doomsday. Yet, it could be advantageous if they were, as they would simply take over from the villains originally intended for Kang Dynasty, namely Immortus, Rama-Tut and Centurion.

It’s quite logical to incorporate them since the central theme of the Multiversal Saga has always been the dark counterparts of various villains and heroes.
