Prior to Biden’s resignation announcement and Harris assuming office, the U.S. election was marked by weeks of turmoil and anxiety among Democrats. For months, they debated whether or not Biden should step down, and on July 13, Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign event.

In November 2024, the U.S. presidential race between Kamala Harris (the current Democratic candidate for president and vice president) and Donald Trump (Republican nominee) is scheduled. As per recent surveys, both nationwide and in critical swing states, Harris has a slight advantage over Trump at this point.
