Arnold Schwarzenegger excited fans at the Arnold Sports Festival with news that he’s talking about returning to three of his famous movie series. The 78-year-old actor shared that a new King Conan film is in the works, bringing back his iconic role from the 1982 original.
I’m getting really excited about what Arnold Schwarzenegger has coming up! He let us in on some big news during a recent appearance. First off, the next installment of whatever franchise it is will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie – the guy behind the recent Mission: Impossible films, which is fantastic. He says they’re aiming for a story that’s exciting but still appropriate for a wide audience, promising plenty of the classic action, magic, and creatures we expect. But that’s not all! He’s been talking with Dan Trachtenberg about bringing me back for another Predator movie! Apparently, the director really wants me to reprise my role as Dutch, which would be a blast. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also received a script for a Commando sequel! It’s amazing to see him embracing these legacy roles. While he’s been busy with TV – like the fun action-comedy FUBAR on Netflix – and doing a lot of good through his philanthropic work, he’s clearly not slowing down. He’s even finished a Christmas action-comedy called The Man With the Bag coming out later this year. It’s a really vibrant time in his career!
The actor, a huge action star from the 80s and 90s, may be returning to several iconic roles. While deals aren’t completely finalized for projects like King Conan, a new Predator movie, and Commando 2, his enthusiasm has created a lot of excitement.
Fans are curious to see how these classic characters will be updated with today’s special effects and storytelling techniques. The Conan series began in 1982 with the original film, followed by Conan the Destroyer in 1984. Although a Conan reboot with Jason Momoa came out in 2011, this new project intends to continue the story of the older, kingly Conan hinted at in the first movie. Now that a director as talented as McQuarrie is involved, the film promises to be as epic as the legend itself.
