‘Definitely Scared Me’: Jenna Ortega Tells First-Time Interviewer Jackson Daly About Working With THIS Beetlejuice 2 Co-Star

As a long-time fan and admirer of Carson Daly, witnessing his son, Jackson, delve into journalism feels like watching a beautiful legacy unfold. It brings me immense joy to see the apple not falling far from the tree, especially when it comes to interviewing the stars we all love.

Jackson Daly, Carson’s son, has embarked on a similar career path as his father, venturing into journalism. Lately, he conducted an interview with the cast members of Beetlejuice – Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, and Justin Theroux – for a segment on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition. Prior to its broadcast, Jackson shared an exclusive preview clip of this interview on PEOPLE, where he inquired about Jenna Ortega’s experience working alongside Michael Keaton in her Beetlejuice role

“Wondering if Beetlejuice was frightening when we initially met? The Wednesday actress shared that he indeed startled her, mainly due to the surprise factor as she wasn’t expecting it.”

She recalled getting a tap on her shoulder, only to turn around and witness Keaton in his Beetlejuice glory. The Batman actor plays a diabolical “Ghost with the Most” named Beetlejuice, who comes to haunt people on Earth when summoned. The character stands out for his crazy hair and makeup, which can catch people off guard, including Ortega.

The actress was surprised when Keaton introduced himself after giving her a gentle nudge on the shoulder. “I had been in the middle of a trial run for my hair and makeup,” she explained, “and there was Michael, but it was as if I hadn’t met him before because he was introducing himself as Michael.”

In the recent interview, Jackson appeared surprisingly calm and comfortable, much like his father Daly, who at age 51, shared with PEOPLE magazine that he was thrilled to witness his son Jackson interview golf icon Tiger Woods for a May episode of NBC’s Nightly News: Junior Edition

In a subsequent comment, Daly shared that his son had written the questions himself and had an extensive conversation with Woods. It turned out to be quite surprising, as reported in April. You see, Daly, who is also father to Etta (11), London (9), and Goldie (4) with his wife Siri (43), previously expressed excitement about his son learning to drive. “My 15-year-old is starting to learn how to drive,” he shared, and the experience has been quite eventful, as it turns out. Jackson, in fact, demonstrated excellent driving skills while operating his father’s pickup truck, according to Daly

Beetlejuice will hit theaters on September 6.
