Winona Ryder Reveals She And Bram Stoker’s Dracula Co-Star Keanu Reeves Address Each Other Using THESE Nicknames Over Text

It’s quite normal for Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, who have been friends for decades, to have pet names for each other. In their private texts, they affectionately refer to one another as “Husband” and “Wife.”

On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actress revealed that she and her co-star from Bram Stoker’s Dracula (released in 1992) now refer to each other by their unique nicknames when texting, a practice they started after getting married in the film

Ryder acknowledged exchanging messages with each other, and what makes it special is that even though they’re aware of who initiated the conversation, they don’t forget to identify whose message it was. To elaborate, the actress contemplated her response when she congratulated the Speed star on his birthday

She exclaimed, “I wished you a happy birthday, my dear husband!”, and signed off with her nickname Noni. She remembered how Reeves would respond with, “Hey wife! I love you! KR, 57.” She disclosed that on every birthday, the actor adopts the practice of writing his initials and age as a special, personalized sign-off. Ryder acknowledged this tradition and declared that Reeves was simply the “best”

Back in 2018, while chatting with Entertainment Weekly, my heart pounded like a drum as I pondered over a fascinating thought: Could it be that these two extraordinary talents unwittingly became husband and wife? It all goes back to the enchanting Dracula wedding scene from Bram Stoker’s timeless classic

She believes they’re genuinely married in reality since, during that particular scene, the film director, Francis Ford Coppola, had a real Romanian priest perform the ceremony. She explained, “He conducted both the master shot and the entire event. Therefore, it seems to me that they are indeed wed.”

During their wedding ceremony, The Matrix actor inquired if they had indeed said “yes” or not. The actress then asked, “Don’t you recall that? It was on Valentine’s Day.” To which he replied, “Geez, I guess that means we’re now officially married.”

Ever since that unforgettable 1992 film, I’ve been following their careers with an almost obsessive fervor. They’ve both reached incredible heights of success, each in their own right. In fact, they even teamed up again for A Scanner Darkly in 2006 and more recently for Destination Wedding in 2018. It’s been a joy to witness their artistic growth over the years!
