Justin Baldoni Breaks Down Atlas’ Restaurant Scene From It Ends With Us; Says ‘It’s Very Opposite To Ryle’s World’

As a dedicated cinephile with a penchant for romance and a soft spot for heartwarming tales, I must say that Justin Baldoni’s directorial debut, “It Ends With Us,” has left me absolutely spellbound! The film is a beautiful adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s beloved novel, and it masterfully portrays the complexities of love, loss, and healing.

Justin Baldoni’s fresh directorial romantic drama, titled “It Ends With Us,” is causing quite a stir at cinemas. This film is based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 bestselling novel and is garnering praise from both audiences and critics. Lately, Baldoni has opened up about the creative process behind the pivotal restaurant scene in the movie, which stars his co-stars Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar as Lily Bloom and Atlas Corrigan.

During an interview with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Justin Baldoni – both director and star of It Ends With Us – shared insights into the creative decisions made regarding the design of Atlas’ restaurant in the movie. Baldoni elaborated that the design was deliberately crafted to depict the personality of Atlas and his bond with his former girlfriend, Lily Bloom.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the design of Atlas’ restaurant. It was our aim to create an ambiance reminiscent of Lily Bloom’s universe – a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. The concept was that, much like Lily, Atlas cherishes antiquities.

In an effort to make the eatery feel vibrant and inviting, the director and actor chose to incorporate features such as candlelight, a cozy ambiance, and wooden decor. Notably, Baldoni explained that the restaurant setting in It Ends With Us mirrors Atlas’ past and his bond with Lily, stating, “Whenever Atlas appears on screen, whether it’s in a space or his residence, it exudes a sense of safety.”

He continued, “We wanted to show that he came from this difficult childhood and made something of himself. We kept going back to who Atlas was and why he has this restaurant in the first place, and one of the things that was very important was that this restaurant feel very much like a love letter to Lily.”

The movie adaptation of “It Ends With Us” is now playing in cinemas. The story revolves around Lily Bloom, a character who manages to leave her troubled past behind and establish herself in Boston, where she aspires to open a florist shop. In this new city, she encounters Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon, with whom she forms a deep connection. Yet, as their love blossoms, Lily recognizes aspects of Ryle that mirror her parents’ relationship. The plot thickens when Atlas, Lily’s former flame, makes an unanticipated reappearance in her life, adding complexity to her romantic situation.
