Seventeen-year-old Uma Thurman and her mother, Naomi Watts, went to the Balenciaga Womenswear Fall/Winter 2026 show in Paris. Pictures shared by fashion publications like WWD show the pair posing for photos outside before the show started.
Kai arrived at the show wearing a completely black outfit, reminiscent of Balenciaga’s signature edgy aesthetic. Her look featured a tailored outfit and a statement belt from the brand, completed with a small black clutch. She paired this with dramatic smoky eye makeup and flowing blonde hair. Watts joined her in an all-black ensemble, wearing a strapless top with fitted trousers, heels, and a clutch. Their matching looks gave off a stylish mother-daughter vibe as they arrived at the event.
Kai, the daughter of Watts and actor Liev Schreiber, is gaining recognition in the fashion world. She came out as transgender in 2024 and has since started working as a model.
Earlier this year, Schreiber discussed his daughter in an interview with Variety, noting that her identity wasn’t a surprise to their family.
He explained that Kai has always been true to themself. However, he felt the most significant moment was when Kai asked everyone to start using different pronouns.
He added that it was not a major change for them because of how Kai had always expressed herself.
Honestly, it didn’t really surprise me, since Kai had presented as feminine for a while now.
Kai has talked about her aspirations to work in the fashion industry. In a 2025 interview with Interview magazine, she expressed her desire to become a successful model.
She shared that she’d always dreamed of becoming a beautiful, glamorous, and powerful woman, someone like Marilyn Monroe. Her ambition is to be a supermodel, and she’s been preparing for years, even practicing her walk at home – her mom has plenty of videos to prove it!
Kai shared that she admires many influential figures in fashion and culture, including Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Richie Shazam, and Colin Jones.
Showing up at Paris Fashion Week signals she’s making progress toward her aspirations. These events are great opportunities for new models to meet industry professionals like designers, photographers, and agents, and attending a major fashion show can really help them get noticed.
