As I read about Arianne Zucker and Shawn Christian‘s beautiful wedding, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. Here are two people who have found their perfect partner after years of searching, and they’ve managed to create an unforgettable experience for themselves and their loved ones.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d share this in a personal, engaging manner: “Just like you, I’m always curious about the unique stories behind beautiful weddings. Recently, Arianne Zucker and Shawn Christian tied the knot in a way that truly stood out – they opted for a charming blend of rustic charm and elegant sophistication.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that the beloved couple from Days of Our Lives, who started their journey together back in 2013, exchanged vows on an enchanting Saturday, August 17, at the picturesque Jacob’s Berry Farm nestled in Gardnerville, Nevada. The day before was just as magical, with a sunset soiree held in a seaside wine bar.
50-year-old Zucker shares with PEOPLE that the intention was to create a lasting impression on our guests, something they’d remember fondly in their hearts and minds for all time.
On their wedding day, a crowd of 100 family members and friends gathered at the farm. Zucker finds the setting perfect, combining the picturesque backdrop of the Sierra Mountains with the cozy charm and enthusiasm of a barn celebration. She mentions that the location perfectly embodies them as a couple, and she wanted to convey this unique feeling to each guest.
She notes that the property reflects everything about them, and they wished to convey that sense to their visitors, too.
The central focus was on making sure everyone attending felt warmly welcomed and joyful during the wedding of the couple. Christian, aged 58, emphasized that their primary objective was to please all guests and create a lively atmosphere at the event orchestrated by Cynthia Ferris-Bennet, the coordinator.
Christian, who is 58 years old, expresses that our primary goal was for everyone to enjoy participating in the event, he states.
In the role of Tony Yasik, who served as both Christian’s closest friend and best man, undertook the ceremonial duties. Some traditional aspects were integrated into the event, including a custom from the Ashkenazi Jewish tradition – breaking a glass at its conclusion, symbolically honoring the primary character, Zucker.
She shares with PEOPLE: “Not well-known designer brands, more about fun than flash!” Her sentiment is that, when selecting a wedding dress, one typically envisions something that aligns with the event’s theme. Then, unexpectedly, an ideal option appears on platforms like Pinterest. For her, it’s never been about designer labels, but rather how the garment feels when worn.
She purchased her dress from Pinterest, which blended boho and rural sophistication, adorned with a belt and cowboy boots. Accompanying her walk down the aisle was Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long”. Her hairstyle was done by Sarah Santa. Zucker noted that she had no intention of buying from a well-known designer; instead, she aimed to find something fitting the theme and comfortable to wear.
At the event, Sierra Chef prepared a delightful assortment of dishes for guests to enjoy. This included roasted seasonal vegetables, fresh Atlantic salmon, tender Sierra filet mignon with forest mushrooms, and rosemary parmesan focaccia. For dessert options, vegan cookies, brownies, and mini cannolis were provided as choices.
The main attractions that made the night unforgettable were the entertainment and dancing. The evening’s entertainment, orchestrated by McClains DJ, featured an exhilarating and enjoyable lineup for a surprise dance performance, or flash mob. Catherine Arens, a dance instructor, guided the couple on their entrance, and they danced to a mix of swing, waltz, and funk music.
“Shawn and I have been together for 11 years and have faced both ups and downs in our relationship. Because of him, I have grown into a better person – as a woman, a mother, and a partner. He has equipped me with the means to reach higher aspirations in life, and I am confident that we will continue to draw closer together every day in the future.”
At last, for their finale dance, they chose a song that resonated deeply with me – ‘One of the Good Ones’ by Gabby Barrett. The couple moved to the rhythm, with Zucker miming along, his gaze fixed on Christian who appeared overwhelmed with emotion. That moment was nothing short of enchanting, and I can hardly find the words to express how perfect it felt.
Two years ago, I found myself walking hand-in-hand with my beloved on the shores of enchanting Lake Tahoe, thinking we were embarking on a Father’s Day adventure. But little did I know that Christian had other plans! He dropped to one knee and presented me with a breathtaking teardrop-shaped aquamarine ring, its Tiffany-blue hue as captivating as the lake itself, and asked for my hand in marriage.
Following the trip, Zucker could express the positive impact Christian has had on her personal growth as a woman, mother, and companion. She emphasized his role in helping her meet her goals, and eagerly anticipates drawing nearer to him every day.
For Christian, marrying Ari was an authentic expression of the love they had nurtured over time, which they wished to declare before their loved ones. “Marriage with Ari signifies our respect for our devotion and pledge to help each other unveil our best qualities, thereby fostering a world within us and around us that flourishes,” he explains.
He said that marrying Ari shows that they are willing to help each other develop and improve each other’s world. Christian noted that the celebration was fun and full of laughter, and dancing, and he claimed that they would go through the entire experience again in a heartbeat.
