Peacock’s streaming selection is constantly changing, with popular movies and family-friendly titles currently leading the way. The most-watched shows this week include everything from action-packed adventures to classic comedies, showing that Peacock viewers enjoy a wide variety of films. Both well-known series and brand new releases are attracting a lot of attention, and these are the movies people are watching the most right now.
‘The Little Rascals’ (1994)

‘The Little Rascals’ is a funny movie about a group of kids, Spanky and Alfalfa among them, and their hilarious adventures. The story revolves around their club, the ‘He-Man Woman Haters Club,’ and Alfalfa’s secret crush on Darla. Directed by Penelope Spheeris, the film is based on the classic ‘Our Gang’ shorts and includes fun appearances by famous stars like Mel Brooks and Reba McEntire. It’s still a popular choice for families because of its silly, physical comedy and the warm, familiar feeling it evokes.
‘Ted’ (2012)

Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett in ‘Ted,’ a movie about a man whose childhood teddy bear magically comes to life. As an adult, John has to deal with his talking, and often inappropriate, bear while trying to build a normal relationship with his girlfriend. Seth MacFarlane directed the film and also voiced and provided the performance capture for Ted himself. ‘Ted’ was a big hit in theaters, leading to a follow-up movie and a TV series exploring the bear’s backstory. The film mixes raunchy comedy with heartfelt moments about friendship and the challenges of adulthood.
‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ (2023)

As a lifelong movie and gaming fan, I was really excited for ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ and it didn’t disappoint! Illumination did an amazing job bringing Mario and Luigi’s world to life with bright, energetic animation. The story is classic Mario – they get pulled into the Mushroom Kingdom and have to team up to stop the big bad Bowser from taking over. Chris Pratt voices Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy is a fantastic Princess Peach, and Jack Black absolutely kills it as Bowser – seriously, he steals the show! It quickly became a massive hit, becoming one of the biggest animated movies ever. What’s really cool is how many nods to the original games they packed in; it’s a treat for fans who’ve been playing Mario for years, but also totally accessible for newcomers.
‘Home’ (2015)

I recently watched ‘Home’, and it’s a really sweet movie! It’s about Oh, this super optimistic alien who’s basically a fugitive from his own race, the Boov, and ends up landing on Earth. He accidentally meets a clever girl named Tip, and the two of them hit the road together. They’re on a mission to find Tip’s mom, but it quickly turns into a quest to save the whole planet from a big, silly mistake. The voice cast is fantastic – Jim Parsons, Rihanna, and Steve Martin all lend their talents. It’s actually based on a children’s book called ‘The True Meaning of Smekday’ – a fun fact I learned after watching!
‘The Beekeeper’ (2024)

In ‘The Beekeeper,’ Jason Statham plays Adam Clay, a former secret agent who belongs to a shadowy group. When a friend is scammed, Clay sets out on a violent quest for revenge against the criminals involved. Directed by David Ayer, the movie is packed with thrilling action and intense fight scenes. It reveals a secret world of corruption that goes all the way to the top of the government. The film cleverly uses Statham’s skills in physical performance to tell its story.
‘Song Sung Blue’ (2025)

“Song Sung Blue” is a drama about a band that performs the music of Neil Diamond. The film follows the band members as they deal with challenges in both their personal lives and their careers. Directed by Craig Brewer and starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet, the movie is based on a true story – the 2008 documentary of the same name, which featured a couple performing as Lightning & Thunder. The story highlights the joy of performing and how love can survive even when things are tough. It’s quickly becoming a popular release on the platform.
‘Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa’ (2008)

As a big fan of the ‘Madagascar’ movies, I really enjoyed the second one, ‘Escape 2 Africa’! It picks up right after the first film, with Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria trying to get back to the New York zoo. Unfortunately, their plane goes down and they end up in Africa, which is where things get wild! It’s awesome seeing Alex reconnect with his parents and trying to fit in with his lion pride. Plus, all the original voice actors – Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinkett Smith – are back, delivering the same hilarious energy we love. It’s a funny movie, but it also touches on some interesting stuff about finding your place and where you come from.
‘Madagascar’ (2005)

The movie ‘Madagascar’ tells the story of a group of zoo animals – Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo – who live a comfortable life in New York’s Central Park Zoo. Feeling restless, Marty runs away, and his friends embark on a journey to find him. Their adventure unexpectedly leads them to the island of Madagascar, where they meet a lively community of lemurs ruled by the eccentric King Julien. ‘Madagascar’ was a huge success, spawning multiple sequels and television series. It’s celebrated for its unique animation and energetic voice acting.
‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ (2012)

In ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted,’ Alex the lion and his friends join a traveling circus as a way to escape a determined animal control officer who’s chasing them across Europe. The main villain, Captain Chantel DuBois, pursues them through cities like Monte Carlo and London. The movie also introduces new characters, including the tiger Vitaly and the jaguar Gia. It was the first ‘Madagascar’ film released in 3D, making the circus scenes even more visually impressive. Reviewers enjoyed the movie’s quick wit and bright, colorful animation.
‘Hamnet’ (2025)

‘Hamnet’ is a moving historical drama based on Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel. The film centers on Agnes, William Shakespeare’s wife, and her heartbreaking experience with the death of their son, Hamnet. Set in 16th-century England, it explores the profound impact of grief and how it fueled the creation of a legendary play. Directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, ‘Hamnet’ is quickly becoming a critically praised and popular adaptation of a beloved book.
