Jeff Goldblum Has An ‘Excellent’ Reaction To Robert Downey Jr’s Casting As Doom In Upcoming Film Avengers: Doomsday

As a die-hard fan of both Jurassic Park and Marvel, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by the recent news about Jeff Goldblum and Robert Downey Jr.’s roles in their respective universes. Jeff’s subtle hints about reprising his role as Grandmaster have left me on the edge of my seat, and I can’t help but wonder if we might see a grand reunion between the God of Chaos and Thor.


Jeff Goldblum is widely recognized for his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park movie series, but he has also made a significant impact in the Marvel Universe. On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jeff Goldblum talked about his new Netflix series, Kaos. When asked if fans might see him return as the Grandmaster in future projects, Goldblum hinted that he hasn’t received any news on that topic yet.

Responding to queries regarding Robert Downey Jr.’s casting as Victor Von Doom, the actor from Asteroid City expressed enthusiasm, labeling it as “wonderful news.” He hinted at rumors of his comeback, expressing, “Victor von Doom… I find that name intriguing. If my name were Victor von Doom, I’d likely have progressed more than I currently have. That’s a powerful name indeed.”

Following his multiple appearances as Tony Stark/Iron Man in various Marvel Cinematic Universe productions, Downey is set to reprise his role as the villainous character in Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: The Final Wars.

Previously, Robert Downey Jr. discussed on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast how he ended up taking the Dr. Doom role. According to ComicBook, Downey stated that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige brought up the part. During a conversation with Feige, Downey suggested returning to which surprised his wife, Susan Downey, who asked Feige about what role he might play if he returned.

The actor portraying Oppenheimer indicated that Feige proposed the idea of him playing Victor Von Doom, which piqued his interest. He then researched the character and was impressed, expressing, “I was taken aback. Later on, he said, ‘We need to get Victor von Doom just right. We need to nail that.'”
