Winona Ryder Reveals She Has ‘Missed Flights’ Because of ‘TSA People’ Wouldn’t Let Her Through Until She Did THIS; Find Out

As a lifelong fan of all things Tim Burton and Beetlejuice, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon a magical dreamscape as I delve deeper into the making of the long-awaited sequel. The anticipation has been building for three decades, and now, with the stellar cast assembled and the release date finally set for September 2024, it feels like Christmas came early!

As the release date for Beetlejuice’s next installment in September 2024 approaches, the film’s cast members are hard at work promoting the movie. In the meantime, fans of the original horror-fantasy drama starring Michael Keaton can hardly wait for the sequel, which is finally set to hit theaters after a long hiatus of 36 years.

In a recent chat with Etalk, the actress from Little Women shared insights on the enduring appeal of the 1980s release, and discussed the frequent requests she receives from Beetlejuice fans for her to reprise one of Lydia Deetz’s most famous lines.

The 52-year-old actress shared that such incidents have occurred quite often, leading her to miss flights on previous occasions. In other words, she’s experienced this happening multiple times, including missing flights.

“Flights have been missed by me due to TSA personnel not allowing me passage until I repeated my statement three times.”

In the course of the interview, Winona Ryder sat beside her fellow actors Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, and Catherine O’Hara. She then repeated the phrase “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” three times.

This line was said by Lydia Deetz in Tim Burton’s first installment of the Beetlejuice franchise.

Wednesday star Jenna Ortega even reacted and said, “That serious?”

Winona Ryder has a strong affection for her youthful co-star, Jenna Ortega. As the latest cast member in the Beetlejuice series, Ryder credits Ortega as being instrumental in bringing Beetlejuice 2 to life.

During a recent interview with the entertainment outlet Collider, Winona Ryder mentioned that Jenna Ortega was the missing piece with respect to the Beetlejuice sequel. The Stranger Things actor revealed that the Insidious 2 star is one of her favorite and most authentic people she has met. She said:

“Jenna is undeniably one of my top choices among people I admire. She’s incredibly genuine, and we’ve developed a strong connection. Our conversations flow effortlessly and seem endless. Whenever I need guidance, she’s the person I turn to. [Chuckles] Honestly, it feels like the movie we discussed for so long had to be flawless because we were waiting for her to arrive and mature. In essence, she’s like the ideal missing piece that completes the puzzle.”

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my deep respect and admiration for the remarkable Jenna Ortega. In our shared role as mother and daughter in the Beetlejuice sequel – Lydia Deetz and Astrid Deetz – she has truly left an indelible mark on me. From the very beginning of filming, I felt it was essential for us to establish a genuine bond, as this connection would undoubtedly translate into our on-screen dynamic as mother and daughter. Jenna’s talent and dedication have not only made our collaboration a joy but also elevated the entire production to new heights.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be premiering globally in theaters on September 6, 2024.
