Tatum and Gambit have a rich and complicated past. Together with his frequent partner and producer, Reid Carolin, Tatum crafted a proposal for a solo Gambit film. Their idea was to create an R-rated, humorous movie in the vein of Deadpool. While Fox found the idea appealing, they were hesitant about approving the project with Tatum or Carolin as directors since neither had any directorial experience. Keen on breathing life into the character, Tatum accepted their conditions.
Prior to the project’s progression, Disney acquired Fox, which ultimately resulted in the termination of the planned film.
Gambit stayed under the limelight until he suddenly appeared in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and Channing Tatum’s performance earned praise from many, reigniting discussions about giving him a standalone movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Afterward, it’s been made clear that Tatum had conversations with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. He expressed that the movie’s outcome is now left to divine intervention. Furthermore, an earlier discarded scene from the film suggests Gambit managed to escape The Void, implying potential future developments for this character.

10 years ago, I was part of the crowd witnessing Ryan Reynolds unveil Deadpool 1 for the first time. I believe I rushed backstage and gave him a heartfelt hug, exclaiming something along the lines of “Wow, you did it man!
