Voice Actor Revealed For Garfield in Paramount+’s New Animated Series

Paramount+ is creating a new animated series starring Garfield, and Lamorne Morris will be the voice of the famous, lasagna-loving cat. The show, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios, will be traditionally animated in 2D and will capture the humor and sarcastic personality of the classic Garfield comic strip created by Jim Davis.

Dave H. Johnson, the creator of Middlemost Post, and John Trabbic III, who’s worked on SpongeBob SquarePants and Middlemost Post, will be executive producers on the series. It’s made to be enjoyed by viewers of all ages, with a focus on great storytelling, characters you’ll remember, and a fun, lighthearted tone that’s been popular for years.

Nick Morris, known for his work in shows like New Girl and Fargo, as well as the voice of Spider-Noir, is thrilled to be voicing Garfield. He’s currently juggling several projects, including Jumanji 4 and a new Spider-Noir series coming to Prime Video. When he’s not acting, Morris hosts the podcast The Lamorning After and co-hosts The Mess Around, a podcast where he revisits episodes of New Girl.

As a movie critic, I’ve seen characters come and go, but Garfield is truly a cultural icon. For almost 50 years, this famously lazy cat has captured the hearts of readers – we’re talking over 200 million daily, plus a huge social media following! It’s amazing how the franchise has grown beyond the comics, becoming a full-blown empire with everything from clothing and toys to books and even food. It’s a testament to the character’s enduring appeal.

The new animated series is coming to Paramount+, joining other popular family shows like The Elephant & Piggie Show! and The Pigeon Show! Starring The Pigeon. Many people are happy that the show uses traditional 2D animation, as it lets the focus stay on the characters and funny moments instead of relying on flashy effects.

Thanks to Garfield’s lovable personality and Chris Pratt’s comedic skills, the new series is expected to please both longtime fans and newcomers. Pratt shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I can’t wait to play Garfield and share his funny side with a new audience.”
