Netflix Finally Makes a Big Decision About ‘The Night Agent’ Season 4

Good news for fans of ‘The Night Agent‘: Netflix has renewed the show for a fourth season! Production will now take place in Los Angeles. The thrilling political drama, starring Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, has been filmed in various locations around the world since it first premiered.

Shawn Ryan, the creator and showrunner of the series, expressed his enthusiasm for the renewal. He said filming The Night Agent across five countries and three continents has been an amazing experience, and they’re excited to continue Peter Sutherland’s story in Season 4. The entire team – writers, cast, and crew – is prepared to deliver even more suspense and excitement for their dedicated fans.

The show has been filmed in many locations around the world. The first season was shot in Canada, while the second season focused on New York City, with additional filming in Thailand and Turkey. Season three took the crew to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The next season will mainly be filmed in Los Angeles, and currently doesn’t have any plans for international shoots. The show’s creator, Ryan, has suggested the Los Angeles storyline will be larger in scope than what viewers saw in New York, and that Peter’s character will be paired with a new partner this season.

Netflix has renewed the show for another season, following the release of Season 3 on February 19, 2026. The renewal decision came after Netflix assessed the performance of the new season, particularly since Luciane Buchanan, who played Rose, wasn’t reprising her role. While Season 3 started with 8.4 million views in its first weekend – a decrease from the 13.9 million views Season 2 had – it quickly gained momentum, reaching 9.9 million views by the second week. Notably, both Seasons 1 and 2 also saw a resurgence in popularity, returning to the Top 10 with 2.9 and 2.7 million views respectively.

Answer the call, we’ve got big news. The Night Agent will return for Season 4!

Filming for Season 4 is planned to begin around late May. Production will move from New York to Los Angeles thanks to a $31.6 million tax credit received by Sony Pictures TV. According to Ryan, the writing team has already started developing scripts and storylines for the new season.

I’m really excited for Season 4! It’s going to continue following Peter Sutherland’s story, and we’ll see some familiar faces from Season 3 return. Apparently, the new season will really dig into whether the Night Action program was actually justified, which means even more political twists and intense action – I can’t wait!

In Season 3, I followed Peter as he chased a young Treasury agent all the way to Istanbul. This agent had gone on the run after a murder and was carrying really important, secret government information. Peter partnered with journalist Genesis Rodriguez, and together we tried to expose a hidden network of money and power, all while dodging some seriously dangerous hitmen. It was a wild ride!

Shawn Ryan and Marney Hochman of MiddKid Productions, along with Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn of Exhibit A, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and Nicole Tossou of Project X, and David Beaubaire of Sunset Lane Media served as executive producers on the series. Munis Rashid, Paul Bernard, Guy Ferland, and Seth Fisher were also producers.

Netflix is significantly increasing its investment in film and television production in Los Angeles. Recent and upcoming projects include new seasons of popular shows like ‘Nobody Wants This,’ ‘Running Point,’ ‘The Lincoln Lawyer,’ ‘Beef,’ and ‘Monster,’ as well as the Ben Affleck-directed film ‘Animals’.

Fans of The Night Agent can look forward to Season 4, which will follow Peter Sutherland on a new adventure in a different city, filled with unexpected turns.
