HBO has given fans their first glimpse of the students who will star in its new Harry Potter TV series. The show, which is scheduled to debut in early 2027, has announced the young actors representing all four Hogwarts houses – Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw – and shared photos of them in their house colors.
The cast of Gryffindor has expanded with Eire Farrell playing Katie Bell, Asha Soetan as Angelina Johnson, Orson Matthews as Oliver Wood, Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Alicia Spinnet, and Ethan Smith as Lee Jordan.
Many of the newly announced actors will play members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team alongside Harry Potter, who is played by Dominic McLaughlin. Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger. They’ll be joined by Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, and other cast members portraying Fred and George Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Percy Weasley, and additional characters.

Several new actors are joining the cast as Slytherin students. Eddison Burch will play Miles Bletchley, James Dowll is Lucian Bole, Oliver Croft will be Marcus Flint, Dylan Heath is Adrian Pucey, Henry Medhurst plays Peregrine Derrick, Cornelius Brandreth is Terence Higgs, Laila Barwick takes on Pansy Parkinson, and D’angelou Osei-Kissiedu will play Graham Montague. They’ll be joining previously announced Slytherin students like Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, and Gregory Goyle.
I’m so excited to see Hufflepuff House getting even more fleshed out! We now have India Moon as Hannah Abbott, Jazmyn Lewin as Susan Bones, and Cian Eagle-Service as Ernie Macmillan, plus James Trevelyan Buckle will be playing Justin Finch-Fletchley. And it’s wonderful that Sirine Saba is joining us as Professor Sprout, their head of house – she’s going to be a fantastic guide for them all.
The cast of Ravenclaw includes Aaron Zhao as Terry Boot, Eve Walls as Lisa Turpin, Scarlett Archer as Penelope Clearwater, and Anjula Murali as Padma Patil. Warwick Davis, who appeared in the original Harry Potter films, returns to play Filius Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw House and charms professor.
Casey Bloys, an executive at HBO, has confirmed that work on season two is already starting. He explained that the network wants to release new seasons relatively quickly to maintain momentum. The first season will cover the events of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone across eight episodes. Filming began in the summer of 2025, and while HBO has shared a few behind-the-scenes photos, fans are eager to see more footage and images.
