A recent teaser for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again has confirmed the return of Jack Duquesne, a character also known as the Swordsman. Actor Tony Dalton will reprise his role.
Dalton appeared briefly in the first season, showing up towards the end and immediately grabbing viewers’ attention. Although he only had a small part, previews hint that he’ll have a bigger role in the upcoming season.
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again was a major television hit in 2025. It followed Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, as he worked to control more of New York City. By the season’s end, the Kingpin had become incredibly powerful, putting Daredevil and his allies in a tough spot.

The second season will pick up right where the last one left off. Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock, and he’ll once again face off against Wilson Fisk, trying to stop his criminal empire. This season, he’ll team up with others to fight back and keep the city safe.
I first saw the Swordsman during episode six of the first season, and it was awesome! Jack Duquesne just stepped up to help some people and immediately showed off how incredible he was with a sword. Unfortunately, being a hero didn’t quite work out for him, and he ended up getting captured by Fisk’s team – those Anti-Vigilante guys are tough!
Even though he didn’t have much screen time, the character’s story feels unfinished, hinting at future developments. The cast has mentioned that the first season was primarily focused on building the foundation for a larger story, and that more significant events will happen next season. This suggests characters like the Swordsman will play a bigger role going forward.
Jack Duquesne was introduced in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye. Initially, his mysterious behavior led many to suspect he was a villain. But as the story unfolded, he revealed a more heroic nature, winning over viewers.
Many viewers initially thought the Swordsman’s appearance in the first season was just a quick cameo, as Marvel often introduces characters this way before moving on. However, a new teaser reveals he’ll be returning, and hints that he’ll have a more significant role in the ongoing New York storyline.
