Later on, Short’s spokesperson dismissed rumors about a romantic relationship between him and Streep. In a statement given to The Messenger, they clarified that their bond is only that of close friends, with no romantic involvement beyond that.

Meryl Streep and Don Gummer were wed for 45 years before they parted ways in October 2023. Conversely, Nancy Dolman and George C. Scott were married from 1980 until her passing in 2010 due to ovarian cancer.
