A new Marvel rumor claims Danny Rand may finally be returning to the MCU.
According to a post on X by Cryptic HD, there are rumors that Finn Jones’ Iron Fist might make an appearance, or at least be hinted at, in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Although Marvel Studios hasn’t officially said anything, a recent rumor is fueling speculation that characters from the old Netflix ‘Defenders’ series might be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Iron Fist Could Be Teased In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Sources say Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist, is expected to make an appearance or be hinted at in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Just because there’s a rumor doesn’t guarantee Finn Jones will be in the new season. However, his character might be mentioned as the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands its gritty, street-level stories, especially with Daredevil and the Defenders playing a bigger role.
Instead of immediately giving the character a major role again, we could build towards that over time.
Since the Netflix series concluded, Iron Fist hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His last on-screen appearance was in the team-up show The Defenders, alongside characters like Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.
That shared history makes Daredevil: Born Again a natural place to reintroduce the character.
Marvel Bringing Back The Defenders
Marvel has already started bringing the Netflix characters back into the MCU.
Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock, appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and now starring in the new Daredevil: Born Again series. Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming season, and Mike Colter, who played Luke Cage, has suggested he’s been in talks about returning to the role as well.
Brad Winderbaum, who leads Marvel Television, has indicated that the studio is willing to consider reviving more characters from the former Netflix series, potentially including other members of the Defenders team.
That includes Danny Rand, whose Iron Fist series ran for two seasons before being canceled.
Heroes For Hire Could Be In Marvel’s Plans
As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve been hearing rumors that Marvel Studios is thinking about bringing back some of the Defenders – you know, characters like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. It sounds like they’re exploring the possibility of seeing those heroes again, which would be amazing!
Many fans have suggested bringing Luke Cage and Danny Rand together as the classic Heroes for Hire duo.
Both in the comic books and the Netflix series, Luke Cage and Iron Fist frequently partnered up. We saw a glimpse of this in Season 2 of Luke Cage when Iron Fist joined forces with Cage – something fans and creators had discussed for years.
If the latest buzz about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is true, Marvel might be setting things up for those characters to reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Release
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to debut on Disney+ on March 24th. Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin.
