One Piece Live-Action Season 2: Rumors Are Eyeing THIS Actor As Bartolomeo

As a passionate follower of One Piece and a history buff, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at the possibility of Nahum Hughes playing Bartolomeo in Season 2 of the Live-Action series. Having seen his work in The Mauritanian and Tutankhamun, I can only imagine the depth he will bring to the character of Bartolomeo, a former mob boss turned pirate ally.

According to discussions on the Discord forum for the One Piece Live-Action adaptation, it appears that Nahum Hughes is slated to portray Bartolomeo in the upcoming Season 2 of the show. It’s worth noting that Bartolomeo first appears during the Loguetown storyline, which is set to be featured in Netflix’s second season of the One Piece Live-Action series.

Actor Nahum Hughes is primarily recognized for his performances in The Mauritanian from 2021 and Tutankhamun from 2016. His latest project was Killer Body Count, released in 2024, where he portrayed the character Chris. Neither Netflix nor Tomorrow Studios have made any statements regarding whether Nahum will assume the role of Bartolomeo in future productions.

In this series, Bartolomeo, known as “The Cannibal,” serves as both captain of the Barto Club and second-in-command of Luffy’s Straw Hat Grand Fleet. A fervent admirer of Luffy, he swore allegiance to him following their victory in the B Block tournament at the Corrida Colosseum. Prior to joining forces with Luffy, Bartolomeo was a powerful mob boss hailing from East Blue.

In the storyline of Loguetown, Bartolomeo first witnesses Luffy eluding Buggy’s execution plot, sparking an immediate admiration for the Straw Hat Pirates and altering his life course significantly. However, it is not until the Dressrosa saga that Bartolomeo becomes a significant asset to Luffy. Given Bartolomeo’s minimal involvement in the Loguetown Arc, we anticipate limited screen time for this character.

In a recent handwritten message to fans, mangaka Eiichiro Oda confirmed that the production for One Piece Live-Action Season 2 was in full swing. The Studio also released close-up documentary footage of the production on the official YouTube Channel. No official release date has been released for the sequel.

In August 2023, the first season of our show premiered and quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular shows in the latter part of the year. Just two weeks after its debut, a second season was announced! This upcoming season will adapt storylines from the Loguetown to Drum Island arcs, as found in Oda-san’s manga. Keep an eye out for further updates on One Piece Live-Action Season 2!
