What Is Roller Jam? Release Date, How To Watch, Host, Judges And All We Know About Highly-Awaited Reality Series

As someone who has spent countless hours spinning on the rink, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming premiere of Roller Jam! Growing up, I dreamt of seeing a national roller dancing competition in the USA, and now that dream is about to become reality, thanks to Max and Magnolia Network.

Max is set to co-host the eagerly awaited debut of Roller Jam, along with a fresh lineup of captivating, family-friendly reality shows. The anticipated television show’s premiere date is scheduled for October 8th.

Apart from it, two fresh series titled “Second Chance Stage” (debuting on November 28) and “Human vs. Hamster” (airing on November 21), will be broadcast alongside this one. Notably, Chip and Joanna Gaines of Magnolia Network for Max are serving as executive producers for all these three programs.

As stated in May, these new shows deviate from the usual lifestyle-focused lineup of HGTV alumni and will reportedly feature grand-scale competitions and unconventional social experiments. Notably, Roller Jam marks the inaugural national roller dancing competition held in the United States.

Jordin Sparks, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter best known for winning the sixth season of American Idol, will host the show. Two-time American Olympian and national figure skating champion Johnny Weir and legendary roller skater Terrell Ferguson will be judging the contestants on the show. Every week, a different celebrity guest judge will join the two in-house judges.

The event will feature top roller-skating squads from diverse American communities competing to be crowned America’s finest roller-dancing team and win a $150,000 cash prize. Moreover, the victorious team will receive a $10,000 donation for their local skating rink.

Each episode showcases unique skating acts performed by different teams before a live crowd, including judges and esteemed guests. This six-episode series is set to unfold over the span of six weeks, commencing from October and culminating with its grand finale on November 14, 2024.

Teams hailing from various cities across the nation will face off in a series of roller-skating competitions. Among these cities are New York City, Nashville, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and St. Louis, as reported by Variety.

The list of competitors or any local rink members taking part in the competition is not yet revealed. The number of teams competing simultaneously and the roller dance judging standards are also unknown.
