Uma Thurman’s Daughter Steps Out With Husband for First Time Since Wedding

Maya Hawke and Christian Lee Hutson recently made their debut as a married couple. They attended the Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert in New York City on March 3rd, shortly after getting married over the winter.

The couple, married since Valentine’s Day, didn’t just attend the event together. They performed on stage as a duo and were later spotted relaxing and enjoying a private moment backstage.

Hutson, 35, wore a completely black outfit for the evening, and Hawke, 27, stood out in a bright maroon jacket. This was a rare public appearance for the couple, who have generally kept their relationship private since dating rumors began in 2023.

Before becoming a couple, they were close friends and worked together on creative projects for several years. This strong friendship formed the basis of their engagement, which Hutson appeared to confirm in early 2025 when he called the actress his fiancée during a radio interview.

The wedding ceremony for Hawke’s daughter took place in February at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Manhattan and was attended by many famous faces, including her parents, actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, who came to celebrate with their eldest child.

Thurman, age 55, playfully fulfilled the “something blue” tradition at her daughter’s wedding by wearing a light blue floral dress and pearls. The bride looked beautiful in a boatneck gown with a full, tulle skirt, and added a winter coat when they celebrated with a reception in Manhattan.

The wedding doubled as a big reunion for the stars of Stranger Things. Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, and other cast members were there to celebrate their colleague’s marriage.

Though Hutson was once married to singer Sharon Silva, Hawke has often discussed the advantages of starting a romantic relationship with a friend. She explained on the Zach Sang Show that a partner who was initially a friend truly knows you, rather than seeing you as a blank slate onto which they project their own expectations.

Maya Hawke is currently experiencing a very busy time in her career thanks to the huge popularity of the final season of Stranger Things. The series ended with a three-part finale on New Year’s Eve 2025, marking the end of her role as the beloved character, Robin Buckley.

Get ready to see her in the new movie Wishful Thinking, a quirky and romantic comedy! The film also stars Lewis Pullman and Randall Park, and will premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 12th.
