A Wolverine Variant in the MCU Was Confirmed Nearly 2 Years Ago in a Popular Disney+ Show

The newest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) release featuring Deadpool and Wolverine is breaking box office records left and right, demonstrating its lasting impact. Kevin Feige suggests that this film kicks off the mutant era, and after watching, it’s difficult not to concur.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), characters like Deadpool and Wolverine have been introduced previously, but they never explicitly mentioned the X-Men or mutants. However, “Deadpool & Wolverine” is the movie that officially acknowledges the presence of the X-Men and mutants as we are familiar with them. Moreover, it introduces one of the most renowned X-Men characters into the MCU, but you might wonder if this is truly the case?

Among the main attractions of the movie was the debut of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Yet, it is worth noting that a Wolverine equivalent had previously been hinted at in the MCU, two years prior to the film’s premiere.

In the series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” during the episode titled “Lawyer in Action,” character Jennifer Walters comes across an article about a fight in a bar featuring a man sporting retractable claws, which is reminiscent of Wolverine.

At the close of the episode titled “Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans,” an illustration emerges during the credits, showcasing Augustus Pugliese proudly displaying his sneaker collection to Nikki Ramos. The iconic Wolverine suit is also depicted within this artwork.

It’s possible that the Wolverine variant was present in the MCU without being recognized before. It remains uncertain if Deadpool came across this specific version while seeking the original Wolverine, but many fans are theorizing that Cavill could eventually be unveiled as Earth-616’s Wolverine.
