Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Reveals He Is Hospitalized With Severe Burns After Scary Bonfire Explosion Incident

As a dedicated Slipknot fan, I’ve always admired their resilience and unwavering spirit, especially Sid Wilson, who has been through more than just music. His recent incident with the farm bonfire explosion was a shock to us all, but it didn’t break him. Instead, he faced adversity head-on, just like a true rockstar should!

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson is currently recovering from some serious burns that resulted from an explosion at a bonfire on his farm. This musician, recognized for his high-energy performances, has been open about his injuries and recovery journey through a series of Instagram videos. Despite the gravity of his injuries, Wilson expressed optimism to fans about resuming touring soon.

Speaking of Sid Wilson, he shared that an incident occurred on his farm. As he was tending to his farm duties, a bonfire unexpectedly burst, resulting in burn injuries on his face and arms, which he detailed in a video uploaded on August 23rd.

“Greetings all, I’ve just experienced an unexpected incident that left me with a mark on my face,” I expressed from the hospital bed, where I was connected to an oxygen supply. “Though it has been challenging, I remain optimistic about my recovery. Regrettably, I sustained some severe burns on my face and arms.”

Wilson shared that his eyebrows were singed, his lips were scorched, and his limbs sustained severe burns. In spite of his state, he maintained a positive outlook, assuring fans, “I’m doing well, and no matter the effort required, I will be joining you on tour.”

Wilson clearly demonstrated the extent of his injuries in the videos, displaying swollen lips and burnt arms. In these recordings, medical professionals are visible as they attend to his wounds, check his vitals, and advise him to sit up and breathe. He himself explained, “The phone is shaking because I’m holding it, and I’m shaking.”

To facilitate Wilson’s healing process, especially focusing on his burn injuries, he was moved to a different healthcare facility with advanced equipment for treating such wounds. “Unfortunately, the most affected areas are my arms,” he admitted, accepting that the accident would change his appearance. “They’re going to shave off my hair, so this might be our last goodbye to the long locks,” he added. Wilson sought to reassure his supporters by saying, “I’m doing well… I’m tough. Not ideal, but I’m holding up quite well.”

Wilson explained to his fans that the burns he had were not from a performance, but instead happened when he was tending to his farm.

He explained that the bonfire still had some leftover flames when it spontaneously ignited. “I got a little whoosh—fire,” Wilson said, describing the explosion. Despite the frightening experience, he was determined to continue his upcoming performances.

Slipknot has scheduled multiple concerts over the next few weeks, with performances in California, Oklahoma, Washington, and Indiana among others. Despite his recent injuries, Wilson has assured fans that he will fulfill these obligations. In reference to their sold-out shows on September 13 and 14, he declared his determination, stating, “I’ll be in L.A., and this won’t keep me from performing.”

The band has been announced for a performance at Rocklahoma on September 1st. At this point, their official website doesn’t provide information about potential rescheduling of these shows because of Wilson’s recuperation.
