As a big movie fan, I’ve been following the recent chatter about Jacob Elordi. It seems a short video of him interacting with a fan, posted on TikTok by Olivia Amato, is causing a bit of a stir. People are debating whether he came across as a little cold or dismissive, and it’s definitely sparked a lot of discussion about how celebrities handle fan encounters.
In the video, Amato explained she felt nauseous from being starstruck when she met him. Elordi replied by telling her that comment was ‘disgusting,’ which caused a strong reaction from his fans.
The actor’s response sparked mixed reactions. Some viewers saw it as a funny, dry moment, but others found the tone off-putting. Many on social media criticized it as rude and strange, and at least one person said it completely altered their view of the actor.

Okay, so this is totally crazy, but I actually met Jacob Elordi! I was so overwhelmed and starstruck I think I genuinely told him I was going to be sick from being so happy and… well, he politely told me that wouldn’t be a good look. Honestly, it was a dream come true, even with the slightly awkward detail! 🩷

Amato quickly defended the actor in her video’s caption, explaining that their interaction was completely playful. She shared that she had playfully told him she felt sick because she really liked him, and his honest response made her laugh a lot.
The TikTok creator called the experience a funny coincidence and a sign that dreams really can come true in unexpected ways. She advised her followers to enjoy the lighthearted side of meeting celebrities and not overthink short encounters.
Even though there’s been some local disagreement about certain things, actor Jacob Elordi is continuing to gain success with major roles. He’s currently being praised for his performance as the Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, which debuted on Netflix in late 2025 and has already won him a Critics’ Choice Award.
The 28-year-old actor recently played Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s film version of Wuthering Heights, with Margot Robbie also starring. Although some people questioned the casting choices at first, the movie has been a box office success since it came out in February, solidifying Elordi’s position as a major leading man.
Viewers who loved Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs will be excited to see him back in the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, premiering on HBO on April 12th. The new season jumps ahead in time, following the characters as they navigate life after high school and deal with more mature themes.
Later this year, Jacob Elordi will lead the cast of Ridley Scott’s new thriller, The Dog Stars, scheduled to be released on August 28th. He plays Hig, a pilot trying to survive in a world devastated by a worldwide pandemic, and will appear with Josh Brolin and Margaret Qualley.
