Jamie Lee Curtis is publicly showing her support for her goddaughter, Maggie Gyllenhaal, with a daring post. The 67-year-old actress shared a revealing selfie on Instagram, showing off her black lingerie while riding in a car in New York City.
The spontaneous photoshoot wasn’t just about fashion – it was a celebration of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s new film, The Bride! Jamie Lee Curtis described the movie as a daring, energetic, and powerfully feminist work, and shared that she was wearing a piece from a Victoria’s Secret collection created in connection with the film’s release.
Curtis wasn’t sure how to best show how proud she was, so she decided to post a revealing photo. She explained that because she struggled to find another way to express her support, she opted for this bold display while traveling in New York City.
The Academy Award winner explained that her outfit was inspired by her upcoming role in the thriller series Scarpetta. She described the look as very fitting for her character, Dorothy Farinelli, who appears in the show with Nicole Kidman.

Curtis has recently jumped on several popular fashion trends. Earlier, she turned heads with a revealing jumpsuit she wore while playing Tess Coleman in the upcoming film Freakier Friday.
I’ve been so happy to hear the actress talk about how much fun she had stepping back into that famous role! She mentioned how people loved her costume, and it really seemed to add to the overall positive feeling the movie tries to give everyone. It’s great to see her using her voice to not only promote her own work, but also to support the amazing things her friends and colleagues are creating.
Jamie Lee Curtis has remained very visible since the huge success of Freakier Friday, released in August 2025. The movie brought her back together with Lindsay Lohan for a story about blended families and another body swap, earning over $150 million worldwide.
She’s currently busy with the upcoming premiere of Scarpetta, a new series launching on Amazon Prime Video on March 11th. The show, based on the popular novels by Patricia Cornwell, features Curtis as Dorothy Farinelli, the sister of Kay Scarpetta – the forensic pathologist played by Nicole Kidman.
I’m so excited about this show! It has an amazing cast, including Ariana DeBose playing Dorothy’s daughter, Lucy, and Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino. I heard that Keke Palmer, who’s also a producer on the show through her company, Comet Pictures, jokingly complained that her character always has to look cute – which she says she secretly doesn’t mind at all!
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s new film, The Bride!, will be released in theaters on March 6th. It’s a fresh, punk-rock take on the classic Frankenstein story, starring Jessie Buckley as the Bride and Christian Bale as the Monster. Penélope Cruz and Peter Sarsgaard also appear in the film.
