Amanda Seyfried recently shared some behind-the-scenes details about her new thriller, The Housemaid, revealing that one particular scene didn’t go quite as expected.
During interviews about the movie, Amanda Seyfried revealed she had trouble filming a scene where she had to slap her co-star, Sydney Sweeney. Despite being a seasoned actress, she wasn’t sure how to make the slap look convincing on camera.
Rather than creating a dramatic or surprising scene, the attempt ended with the two actresses sharing a laugh as they worked out how to perform it properly.
The central focus of ‘The Housemaid’ is the escalating conflict between two women, played by Seyfried and Sweeney. Their characters experience a relationship that grows increasingly strained throughout the story, requiring intense emotional performances and physically demanding scenes. A particular slap was intended to represent a major turning point in their conflict.

Interestingly, Sweeney found it a relief to work with someone inexperienced, saying it was “refreshing to have someone who doesn’t know how to slap.”
