Baywatch Adds Jessica Belkin, David Chokachi Returns As Cody Madison

Fox’s Baywatch reboot continues to build out its cast.

Now that Stephen Amell is set to star as Hobie Buchannon, the series has added Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale. Plus, David Chokachi, who was in the original show, will be returning as Cody Madison.

The show is scheduled to air starting in the 2026–2027 TV season, and filming will begin this spring in Venice Beach and at the Fox Studio Lot in Century City.

Jessica Belkin Plays Hobie’s Long-Lost Daughter

It’s revealed that Charlie Vale, from Belkin, is actually the biological daughter of Hobie Buchannon – a child he didn’t know he had.

Charlie escapes a difficult family situation in Galveston and shows up at her father’s, eager to become a Baywatch lifeguard. She’s brave, enthusiastic, and sometimes acts without thinking – qualities that remind everyone of her father, Mitch Buchannon.

But she still has a lot to learn.

The show focuses on a father-daughter relationship, where Hobie becomes a mentor to the daughter he never knew. This new version emphasizes themes of family and continuing a tradition, presenting Charlie as the new face of Baywatch and showing how Hobie has grown from a carefree rebel into a leader.

David Chokachi Returns As Cody Madison

David Chokachi is returning to his famous role as Cody Madison, bringing back a beloved character from the original series.

Let me tell you about Cody – he’s now running The Shoreline, which everyone around here knows as the unofficial Baywatch hangout. But don’t think he’s traded in his buoy for a beer tap completely! He still hits the beach in his red shorts when someone needs saving, and he’s really taken on a mentor role with the whole lifeguard crew. It’s a nice balance – keeping his hand in the action while building something new.

This character not only serves as a second home for the lifeguards, but also rewards them with free wings whenever they make a significant rescue.

Chokachi first appeared as Cody in later seasons of the show, including when it was filmed in Hawaii. He quickly became a popular character during the series’ most successful period.

Expanding The Baywatch Legacy

The new Baywatch series, a production of Fox and Fremantle, features Hobie as the Baywatch Captain. He’s continuing the legacy of his famous father, Mitch Buchannon – a role originally made famous by David Hasselhoff.

The show’s reboot features familiar faces – Amell as Hobie, Belkin as Charlie, and Chokachi reprising her role as Cody – alongside a fresh, new story.

I’m so excited to hear that filming starts this spring in Los Angeles! Fox is planning a full season of twelve episodes, and we can expect to see it air during the 2026-2027 television season. I can’t wait!
