As a sci-fi fan, I’m super excited because there’s a TON of new stuff coming out this week! Seriously, whatever you’re into – from really twisty, thought-provoking stories to epic adventures through time – it’s all happening. They’ve got everything: fun animated movies for the whole family, intense alien action, and more. Basically, if you’re looking for something new to watch, streaming services and cinemas are loaded with fresh sci-fi and similar shows and movies. Here’s a breakdown of everything that’s coming out this week!
‘Outlander’ (2014)

I’m so excited! ‘Outlander’ is back for Season 8, premiering on Starz on March 6th! For those who don’t know, it’s based on Diana Gabaldon’s amazing books and follows Claire Fraser, a nurse from World War II who somehow travels back in time. Caitríona Balfe is brilliant as Claire, and the show really blends history and a bit of sci-fi as she and her husband, Jamie Fraser, deal with love, war, and everything happening in 18th-century Scotland. It’s a fantastic story!
‘The Proof Is Out There’ (2021)

On March 6th, journalist Tony Harris kicks off the sixth season of ‘The Proof Is Out There’ on the History Channel. The show examines potential evidence of UFOs, legendary creatures, and other unexplained events caught on video. Using experts and today’s technology, the series tries to determine what’s real and what’s a fake. It offers a scientific look at some of the most talked-about mysteries that often appear in science fiction.
‘Hoppers’ (2026)

Pixar’s new animated movie, ‘Hoppers,’ hits theaters for a limited time starting March 4th, distributed by Walt Disney Studios. The film stars Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, Piper Curda, and Kathy Najimy. ‘Hoppers’ tells the story of a new technology that lets people transfer their minds into realistic robotic animals. The movie is a funny and imaginative adventure where the main character uses this technology to talk to animals and protect their home.
‘War Machine’ (2026)

I’m really excited for ‘War Machine,’ the new action flick coming to Netflix on March 6th! It’s directed by Patrick Hughes and stars Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid. From what I’ve heard, it’s about the last group of soldiers going through Army Ranger training when they suddenly come face-to-face with a terrifying, alien killer. It sounds like a cool mix of intense military action, scary survival horror, and classic sci-fi.
‘SYNC’ (2024)

The sci-fi thriller ‘Sync’ will be available to stream on multiple platforms starting March 6th. Set in a future where people have microchips allowing them to connect minds through an app, the story centers on Ayla, a woman who connects with her new roommate. Their connection quickly turns dangerous as Ayla starts experiencing the roommate’s memories in her dreams. She has just 72 hours to disconnect and protect her own mental health.
