‘Life Is Strange’ Adaptation Finds Its Chloe and Max for Prime Video Series

Amazon Prime Video has chosen the actors who will play the main characters in its upcoming “Life Is Strange” series. Maisy Stella will portray Chloe, and Tatum Grace Hopkins will play Max, according to Variety. The show was originally announced in September 2025.

The series centers on Max, a photography student who gains the ability to rewind time when she rescues her friend Chloe. Together, they delve into the disappearance of a fellow student, revealing hidden secrets within their community and finding themselves in a dangerous predicament.

Charlie Covell leads the series as showrunner and executive producer. Joining her as executive producers are Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, all working through Story Kitchen. The series is a collaboration between Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios, who are handling production.

So, I just learned this is Hopkins’ first time on TV, which is pretty cool! She’s a stage vet though – I looked her up and she’s been in some big Broadway shows like “The Queen of Versailles” and “For the Girls.” She even did a short film called “Meek” that showed at the Montclair Film Festival earlier this year, in 2024.

Stella is a musician who’s also acted in several well-known projects. She played Daphne Conrad on the TV show “Nashville” for six seasons and appeared in films like “My Old Ass” with Aubrey Plaza, a role that won her an Independent Spirit Award. She was also in Maude Apatow’s film, “Poetic License.” Later this year, she’ll be acting alongside Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor in the movie “Flowervale Street.”

With the release of “Life Is Strange: Reunion” – the final chapter in Chloe and Max’s story – just around the corner on March 26 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, the cast has been announced. The original “Life Is Strange” game, released in 2015, has become incredibly popular, attracting over 20 million players globally.

The world of Life Is Strange has grown through several follow-up games – including Before the Storm, Life Is Strange 2, True Colors, and Double Exposure – all created by Don’t Nod Entertainment and Deck Nine and published by Square Enix.
