Yung Miami makes fun of Joe Budden’s ‘Pump It Up’ just now going gold, Joe responds

As a long-time fan of hip hop and someone who has followed both Joe Budden and Yung Miami’s careers for years, I can’t help but feel a mix of amusement and nostalgia at this social media spat between the two artists. It’s fascinating to see how far they’ve come since their respective debuts in 2003 and 2018, respectively.

In the year 2003, Joe Budden’s popular track titled “Pump It Up” was launched, yet it recently achieved gold status, and this week, LL Cool J presented him with a gold record plaque.

Many individuals criticized Joe over his song that sold 500,000 or more units in 21 years, and one of them was Yung Miami, previously part of the City Girls. In a tweet, she expressed her disbelief saying “I was 9, now I’m 30,” accompanied by numerous laughter emojis.

It appeared as though Joe was considering an attack on Miami, but instead, he opted to postpone it, writing “That would be far too simple. Perhaps tomorrow, chuckling.”

Afterward, Miami admitted that she teased Joe since he speculated that her podcast, “Caresha Please,” would ultimately get shut down. However, I should mention that it’s continuing to thrive as we speak.

She said, “Don’t you remember the phrase ‘Another one down’? You were rejoicing when it seemed like I had lost, little did you know! Now, let’s both have a good laugh because you were the one who thought I was losing.”

Joe’s “easy” response might stem from the challenges that Miami has encountered this year. For instance, her group with JT, City Girls, disbanded following a public spat on social media. Additionally, her former boyfriend, Diddy, faced accusations of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and other grave offenses. Miami was also implicated as one of his alleged sex workers, which she later refuted.

Recently on the show “Caresha Please”, Miami publicly addressed Diddy’s legal issues and disclosed that they had parted ways.

She shared that when these matters surfaced, she felt the need to step back, prioritize what truly mattered – her career, family, and self. She decided to let him handle his situations independently as she didn’t want to be entangled in them.

As for Joe, we’ll have to see if he decides to go scorched earth on Miami tomorrow, as he said.
