The popular live-action series is returning to Netflix on March 10th with a new season called ‘Into the Grand Line’. This season will continue to follow Nami, played by Rudd, and the rest of the Straw Hat crew as they navigate treacherous and unexpected adventures on the ocean.
This season will adapt important storylines from the manga, like the adventures in Loguetown and on Drum Island. It will also feature new characters, including Dr. Kureha, voiced by Katey Sagal, and Miss Wednesday, played by Charithra Chandran.
Rudd is taking on projects beyond One Piece, currently starring in the thriller ‘Whalefall’ with Austin Abrams and Josh Brolin. The movie, adapted from a bestselling book, tells the story of a diver stranded inside a sperm whale and their fight for survival. It’s a challenging role, both physically and emotionally, quite different from her character Nami.
Beyond her work in traditional movies and TV shows, Rudd also does voice acting. She recently voiced the character Marcille Donato in the English version of the popular anime Delicious in Dungeon, which has received excellent reviews. This versatility – moving seamlessly between different genres like fantasy, horror, and voice work – is unusual for an up-and-coming actor in Hollywood.
