Prime Video Sets Premiere Date for Adult Animated Series ‘Kevin’ from Aubrey Plaza

I’m so excited to hear that Prime Video is finally releasing its new animated comedy, Kevin! I just found out it’s coming out on April 20, 2026, and all eight episodes will be available to stream on Prime Video at once. Even better, it’ll be available in over 240 countries, so pretty much everyone can enjoy it!

The show’s opening titles have been released, and they feature a new song called “I’m Coming Home.” The song is performed by Jason Schwartzman, who also co-wrote it with composer Dan Romer.

What Is Kevin About?

Kevin is a cat who experiences upheaval when his owners split up. Instead of choosing between them, he decides to distance himself from both of them.

He moves out of his home and starts working at a pet rescue in Astoria, Queens. Surrounded by a quirky group of animals, he begins to discover his true passions and what he wants from life.

Cast and Characters

Jason Schwartzman provides the voice for Kevin, a cat who’s decided to live life on his own, without humans. Aubrey Plaza voices Dana, one of the people Kevin leaves behind.

I was really excited to see Whoopi Goldberg playing Cupcake, and John Waters as Armando was a brilliant casting choice! Aparna Nancherla rounded out the supporting players as Judy, and everyone brought something special to the film.

The trio plays Kevin’s fellow cat roommates at the rescue.

The rescue is run by Seth, voiced by Gil Ozeri, alongside his dog Brandi, voiced by Amy Sedaris.

Creative Team

I’m so excited about this new show, Kevin! It’s created by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, who also executive produces it. Joe Wengert is the showrunner too, which is awesome – he’s really leading the creative vision.

Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio served as executive producers on the project.

The series is produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.

Kevin premieres April 20, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
