Ekland explained that the characters were created to be like perfect, unchanging Barbie dolls. The producers insisted the female stars maintain a flawless appearance, even as the male actors aged and showed wear and tear from performing their own stunts.

Britt Ekland pointed out that actors generally knew what was expected of them when joining the film series. However, she also noticed that despite the movies’ success, the industry often didn’t recognize the actresses as truly skilled performers.

The Swedish actress explained that not receiving proper professional credit can be both good and bad for performers. She noted that while these films get a lot of attention, the women acting in them aren’t always acknowledged as actresses by the industry.

But according to sources, no final decision will be made until the movie’s script is finished and they’ve done thorough screen tests with potential candidates.
