Jamie Foxx Daughters Corinne and Anelise Are Stealing the Spotlight

Jamie Foxx is a proud father to two daughters. His first daughter, Corinne, was born in 1994 to Connie Kline, and fifteen years later, he welcomed his second daughter, Anelise Bishop, with Kristin Grannis.

In a 2017 interview with People magazine, the actor discussed the difficulties of raising children while being a public figure. He admitted that the entertainment industry can be unpredictable, but expressed how proud he was that his kids had adapted well to it.

For Jamie Foxx, the best part of being a dad isn’t about big moments, but the small, heartfelt connections. He loves simply hearing his kids call him ‘Dad,’ and especially enjoys seeing their faces light up when he walks into a room or helping them figure things out, even if he’s dealt with the same issues himself.

By the summer of 2025, Jamie Foxx had recovered enough to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards. He gave a heartfelt speech, thanking his daughters, Corinne and Anelise, for being a key part of his journey back to health.

I’ve been keeping an eye on Corinne Foxx, and it’s awesome to see her carving out her own path, just like her dad! After getting her degree from USC and honing her skills at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she’s become a regular face on TV – you probably know her as the co-host of Beat Shazam. One of the best parts of my job has definitely been working with my dad. We just click, and it’s a really fun mix of joking around and genuinely caring for each other. We have that classic father-daughter dynamic where we can tease each other endlessly, and honestly, it makes being on set feel like hanging out at home.

In addition to hosting, Corinne is also an actress and an Emmy-winning producer. She was instrumental in creating the series Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, drawing on funny experiences from her own life to write the show’s scripts.

Corinne recalls a time when Jamie Foxx tried to scare one of her high school boyfriends by showing up with some of his biggest, most muscular friends. Even though she remembers this as an uncomfortable experience, she insists he’s a wonderful father who makes her feel very confident.

In late 2024, Jamie Foxx had the honor of walking his daughter, Corinne, down the aisle at her wedding to Joe Hooten. He often speaks about her as someone who changed his life for the better and brings joy to everyone around her.

Corinne is interested in acting, but Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Anelise, has taken after him musically. He’s been amazed by her piano playing, and they’ve grown closer through their mutual passion for performing.

In his Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Jamie Foxx shared a story about how a musician named Anelise helped him recover while he was hospitalized. He explained that her music and presence were incredibly healing, like a “spiritual defibrillator” that improved his condition when doctors weren’t sure what else to do.

Anelise is a remarkably talented athlete, succeeding in both basketball and football. Her father, Foxx, has recounted instances of her surpassing male players on the field, notably a stunning sixty-yard play that showcased her incredible natural ability.

Jamie Foxx has also used his influence to include his daughters in important social issues, like attending demonstrations for racial equality. He shared that seeing people unite was a powerful experience, but he was saddened by having to explain the difficult reasons why these protests were necessary.

Jamie Foxx is making a big return to movies with the action-comedy Back in Action, and it’s exciting news for fans of Cameron Diaz too, as this film marks her comeback as well. Directed by Seth Gordon, it’s a fast-paced spy thriller bringing these two stars back to the screen.

Beyond acting in movies, Jamie Foxx is still working on projects through his production company and continues to make music. He’s also generating excitement for his upcoming role as Mike Tyson in a new biographical series.
