Meghan Markle Calls Four-Day Colombian Trip As A ‘Chapter Of Joy’ In Her Life

During her trip to the nation, Meghan Markle, aged 43, actively engaged in the “Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voices of Equity” summit. This gathering, held on August 18, 2024, was specifically designed for Afro-Colombian female leaders to discuss and address issues like racism, gender discrimination, and other related matters that they have encountered.

Joining them was Markle, who mentioned that this time of her life happens to be a “chapter of joy.”

At the Teatro Municipal Enrique Buenaventura in Cali, Meghan expressed that she and her spouse were overwhelmed by the warm reception they’ve received from this nation.

She also mentioned that the culture of Colombia and its history seems like a dream. 

At a gathering centered around women’s concerns, Meghan Markle highlighted that their newly established charity, the Archewell Foundation (established in 2020 alongside Prince Harry), is committed to amplifying the voices of women.

In addition, Markle shared that her mother, Doria Ragland, and her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, serve as powerful sources of inspiration for her – these remarkable women are the pillars in her life.

At the Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voices of Equity summit, Markle expressed empathy for the experience of enduring silence and shared that she herself is empowering her daughter to express herself openly.
