‘Everyone Leaves the Charts’: Chappell Roan Says She Doesn’t Worry About Charting Success Of Her Music

As a dedicated follower of Chappell Roan‘s journey, I must say that her unwavering dedication to her craft and authenticity is truly inspiring. Her success story serves as a testament to the power of staying true to oneself and not compromising one’s morals or values for fleeting chart success.

Chappell Roan (also known as Kayleigh Rose Amstutz) is currently overjoyed by her recent music success. Yet, in a recent interview with Bowen Yang of Saturday Night Live, she expressed that despite her rising fame and becoming a common name, she pays little attention to chart rankings or radio play.

As someone who’s always focused on my art rather than chart positions or radio play, it’s astonishing to find myself gaining more recognition within the industry than ever before. I can’t help but think, “I’ve been consistently working at this for so long, yet here I am!” This newfound respect is truly validating.

She remarked, “Charts are temporary,” she continued. “Everyone departs from them. I’m essentially thinking, ‘This feels like an achievement worthy of a valedictorian.'”

Currently, Roan’s album titled “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” released in 2023, ranks at number three on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, her latest track, “Good Luck, Babe!”, has reached its highest position at number six on the Hot 100 Songs chart.

Moreover, several songs by the artist, including Hot to Go!, Pink Pony Club, Red Wine Supernova, Casual, Femininomenon, and My Kink Is Karma, have made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 list in the past few weeks.

Roan additionally pointed out that her impressive chart success should not be seen as the entirety of her career progression but rather a valuable boost for her. Furthermore, she pondered on the remarkable transformation her career has undergone in recent months, confessing during the interview that she hadn’t anticipated it would reach such great heights.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share my perspective: My journey to success was unique and authentic, as I stayed true to my values and priorities throughout my career. I never yielded to external pressures, instead choosing to chart my own course.

In her own words, she shared that she’s cancelled endorsement contracts when they didn’t sit well with her, choosing instead to trust her instincts and beliefs over financial gain. This decision brings her a sense of tranquility and allows her to enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

Furthermore, not only does the world’s admiration extend to her music, but the Grammy-winning artist Adele has also acknowledged it. During her performance in Munich on August 14, she shared with the audience that she had recently been captivated by Roan’s music, expressing her awe by describing her as “spectacular.”

Over the next two months, you can expect Roan to carry on with her “Femininomenon” concert series, playing shows in Germany, France, Manchester, London, Forest Hills (NYC), and various additional locations.
