The depth of emotion he poured into his post about Deadpool 2 co-star Rob Delany and the loss of his son, Henry, truly showcases Reynolds’ empathy and compassion.
Ryan Reynolds, star of Deadpool and Wolverine, recently wrote a heartfelt message in honor of Rob Delany’s late son, Henry. Delany portrayed the character Peter in the Marvel film.
As an over-the-top admirer, I couldn’t help but spill my feelings onto the social media realm after all this time since I last embodied the infamous antihero, Deadpool, in the 2018 movie, Deadpool 2. And let me tell you, Ryan Reynolds didn’t hold back when he showered praise on the incredible Delany in his heartfelt tribute.
On Monday, August 19, the actor from Green Lantern shared a post on Instagram, revealing that viewers who remained after the credits finished rolling for Deadpool and Wolverine might have spotted his name listed among them.
He continued to say that both Delany and his son finally got a chance to share the same screen.
In addition to what Reynolds shared in his article, he highlighted that his fellow actor is one of the funniest individuals he’s ever met. He affectionately referred to Delany as “a stunning, sharp-witted, and sensitive wordsmith.”
At the outset of the article, “The Proposal” star explained the character of Rob Delaney as PeterPool, hinting that he might serve as the main character in his own Marvel Cinematic Universe, suggesting one of the Earths depicted within the MCU.
As Rob Delaney, I lost my precious son Henry back in 2018 when he was only two years old. Two years prior to his passing, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that eventually claimed his life. Tragically, Henry’s death occurred just as we were wrapping up the production of Deadpool 2. This heartbreaking event inspired me to pen down my memoir titled A Heart That Works.
According to the character portrayed by the actor known as “IF”, after the debut of Deadpool’s second movie, he felt a strong desire to honor the deceased child of “Rob”. This sentiment was expressed in the most recent installment.
Discussing further about his fellow actor Rob Delaney, the star of Free Guy elaborated on his upcoming memoir, describing it as an engaging read that’s truly delightful.

When Robin Williams initially released his memoir, he openly discussed the profound impact of his son’s passing on him and his family, and how it transformed each one of them.
