As a devoted fan of Kirsten Dunst, I must say her recent Instagram performance was nothing short of exhilarating! Watching the iconic cheerleader from Bring It On relive her role and share her love for the movie brought me immense joy. It’s not every day that we get to see our idols so passionately connected to their roots.
Actress Kirsten Dunst recently showcased her continued ability to memorize lines from the film “Bring It On” by sharing clips on her Instagram story on August 17th. She posted a video of herself practicing or singing along with the movie, demonstrating her enduring affection for the film where she played a cheerleader in 2000.
In a recent Instagram post, Kirsten Dunst, aged 42, echoed the sentiments of the film as she sang, “You may envy us for our beauty, but we don’t reciprocate your feelings either.” She added, “We are the cheerleading squad. We are the cheerleaders!”
As the melody persisted, Kirsten Dunst—renowned for her lively portrayal of Torrance Shipman in Bring It On—flashed a broad grin and chuckled, playfully waving off the camera.
Kate and Laura Mulleavy beautifully documented a special occasion held in Los Angeles for Dunst. This unique gathering was an open-air sleepover, featuring a two-part movie marathon of the movies, “Bring It On” and “The Virgin Suicides”.
At the event, Dunst made an appearance following Cinespia’s organization of a movie screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. She returned to thank her fans and recite additional lines from the film. During her stay, she also loudly declared another part of the chant, “I’m Torrance, your captain Torrance! Let’s go, Toros!”
Kirsten Dunst and Julie Delpy expressed their joy and gratitude towards the audience for attending their movies. Additionally, Kirsten mentioned that she hasn’t rewatched The Virgin Suicides or Bring It On since filming them, as she was only 16 and 17 years old at the time respectively.
When prompted about the experience, Dunst gleamed with excitement as she labeled it as one of the most awe-inspiring feats she’s accomplished. She felt awestruck and grateful, and despite her friends and family being present, she reveled in her seat among the audience, captivated by the movies. On Instagram, she extended her thanks to Cinespia, the company that organized the event.
“Wow, this is truly remarkable! It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before,” Dunst stated, as reported by Deadline.
She expressed, “I’m truly overjoyed! It’s wonderful to be surrounded by my friends and family. I can’t wait to watch with all of you. It’s been ages since I’ve seen these films, and experiencing them with a crowd is something special. I feel incredibly privileged.”
Recently, Dunst hinted that she might consider returning to the Bring It On universe if the situation didn’t feel too cringeworthy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight last April, she mentioned that whether or not she participates in a new installment would depend on how it’s approached, given the prevalence of reviving old projects. However, she stressed that any return would have to be executed in a way that wouldn’t make her uncomfortable.
I mentioned to the media outlet that everyone is returning with their belongings, signaling a nostalgic period. However, I emphasized that as long as it isn’t awkward or cringeworthy, it’s all good.
