As a devoted fan who grew up with Drake & Josh, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation about the potential reunion of these two dynamic duo. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the show was a staple of my childhood viewing. However, hearing that they might approach this reunion differently from the original series has piqued my interest even further. I’m eager to see what fresh take Drake Bell and Josh Peck have up their sleeves!
One of the most enduringly popular teen series ever made is Drake & Josh. Viewers thoroughly enjoyed watching Drake Bell and Josh Peck’s on-screen antics, and there was a strong desire among fans for a reunion between these two talented actors.
On The Amanda Show, Bell disclosed that he proposed to the creators of the TV show about having a reunion alongside his on-screen brother, Josh Peck. Moreover, the Nickelodeon star hinted during the interview that if this project materializes, it will depart significantly from the original series.
During an earlier conversation with The Patriot News, this young celebrity mentioned that while he was exploring a reunion project, there was a part of him hesitant about moving forward because remakes have been quite popular recently. He expressed, “We’ve discussed it, but I also didn’t feel like doing it when everyone seemed to be making remakes.”
He mentioned that the channel had successfully revived several shows in the past and would be open to airing the reunion episodes of Drake & Josh. Yet, Bell states that reboots don’t appeal to him; if he were to present Drake & Josh to viewers, he’d prefer an alternative method instead.
Regarding the idea of reprising our roles from the show with Meg, Josh Peck mentioned to the media, “I don’t believe it would be suitable for us to play those characters again.” He further explained, “Fortunately, we share the same names, so we can still portray Drake and Josh. However, I think it would be more entertaining if we ventured into new buddy comedy projects instead. Something unexpected or different would be more intriguing.”
Over the past few months, Drake Bell has been featured prominently in news stories due to his involvement in the documentary titled “Quite on Set: Dark Side of Kids TV”. In this film, Bell admitted under oath that he had experienced sexual abuse at the hands of a dialogue coach named Brian Peck while working on set.
Following his open confession about a distressing experience, the actor disclosed that he has received a significant amount of support from his peers in the industry. Bell stated, “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support. It can be nerve-wracking when you’re delving into something so intense. It’s an emotional journey, with many ups and downs. You never know how people will respond or what the consequences might be.”
Drake & Josh aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007.
